Willow Smith ‘Sugar & Spice’

Willow is back! Well, sort of.

Amani Media doesn’t really look at mainstream music but this song reflects some of the mean-spirited talk that’s being in the air since ‘Whip My Hair.’

Here is a new track from Willow Smith.

Brother Ali “Writer’s Block”

Frequent C & The Candyman (SoundCloud)

Sometimes you hear something so incredibly unique and and borderline musically genius, you might actually forget its music. This playlist exhibits a great ear for music and mixing skills.

Slim Thugz is the Colorado based, newly formed collaboration between The Mile High Sound Movement’s exceptionally dedicated and talented producers Frequent C and The Candyman. Upon recognizing the near-limitless potential of combining their vast and different musical backgrounds ranging from hip-hop to dub, jazz to chill-out, and funk to glitch, Slim Thugz joined forces and began their odyssey towards inundating the Colorado music scene with completely original performances and coining their own genre, “Jazz-Step.” -source

This is it.  Check out Frequent C & The Candyman from, of all places, Boulder Colorado US.

Mide “City Lights”

Mide "City Lights"
Introducing London-based Acoustic Soul singer/songwriter Midé - who in the same vein as the likes of Michael Kiwanuka and Maverick Sabre before him is set to burst into our consciousness as one Brit Soul man to watch out for – with his brand new single “City Lights” and his brand new City Lights EP which is NOW available for FREE download…
Written, arranged and performed by Midé, “City Lights” is a heartwarming and striking ode to the ways of his city, London while “Any Which Way” and “When I Get” which complete the City Lights EP are both beautiful and ageless acoustic songs. Authentic, rare and stunning, these three songs are just a taste of what to come from Midé in 2012.
ABOUT MIDÉ
Midé is a London-based, twenty-something year old, singer/songwriter who has been mesmerizing audiences with his third arm (Guitar) and soulful voice before and since the launch of his debut EP, 2011’s Travellin’ Light. According to Midé, “I worked hard writing songs and composing music long before it hit me that this is who I am”.
Midé calls it Acoustic Soul and there is no denying the soul in the delightful songs and melodies he delivers. Ever since listening to “Continuum” and “Room for Squares” byJohn Mayer, a big influence in Midé’s sound, he has developed so much as a songwriter and you only need to hear his new single “City Lights” and new EP to understand. Midé also cites Israel HoughtonEric ClaptonJonathan Butler and a host of other greats (united by their expressiveness, soul and their guitars) as his inspiration.

Phil The Thrill

Just in time for Valentine’s Day? Phil The Thrill shares the love.

First and foremost I want to thank and show my appreciation for every blog, fan, or just music lover that has shown love to my music or even took the time out to give me a listen, that goes a long way. It’s been a while since I put out any new music and that is due to numerous reasons. I feel like as an upcoming artist sometimes breaks are needed in order to fully “live life” and have inspiration from going through things to actually write about. With that said I took this time to really perfect my craft and look deeper into finding my sound and innovating who I, Phil the Thrill am as an artist. Through this time I am able to bring to you a collection of some of my works with the “EVOL” project with the timing of Valentines Day..(you see what I did there) And to follow up “EVOL” will be (s)AMPLE TIME 2 in the coming weeks. I look forward to sharing my many stories with you through my music in this year from flythoughts.com and revo media.” – Phil The Thrill
